We of a certain age may want to Thank Emmy Jo for our love of boots
The New Zoo Revue was a children's television program that was on the air from 1972 until 1977. One of the human hosts of the show was Emmy Jo, portrayed by actress Emily Peden.
Emmy Jo was known for her wide hair bands, short skirts and of course, her knee high go go boots.
Most men (and some women) of a generation can point to seeing Emmy Jo as the beginning of their love affair with boots.
