Who knows? Maybe it was Marlo that first 

piqued Regis' interest in tall boots.

I have no proof to back this up but I distinctly remember watching Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and they had a guest on wearing thigh high boots. Regis remarked to the guest (can't for the life of me remember who it was for sure) that he LOVED tall boots.

Kathie Lee said something like 'I know, they won't let me wear them anymore'. This must have been the early to mid 1990s and Kathie Lee had worn OTKs and Thigh Highs quite a bit. Who the 'they' was, I don't know.
