You probably noticed in some of today's screen grabs that
there is closed captioning (words) on the screen.
I searched and searched for a way to turn it off until I found
that there is a FCC mandate that all stations that
"Live Stream" their newscasts are required to have Closed Captioning scrolling across the screens by March 30th.
Most stations don't have Video Players that have a setting
for the user to turn off CC. Until they do, it's just the latest in the long line (graphics, tables, plants, desks, dudes, etc)
of paraphernalia used to impede our boot viewing pleasure.
